With a GPS-navigation-fitted Hertz car as your transport, whiz your way across Melbourne, Phillip Island, Lorne and Warrnambool, exploring hidden wonders, checking out well-known sights and experiencing Australia in all its pristine glory. Tour the Melbourne Cricket Ground; ride the iconic Puffing Billy at Belgrave; and once at Phillip Island, enjoy a melee of experiences including a rendezvous with penguins, seals and koalas. Cross the Bass Strait to Queenscliff and recommence your self-drive tour to Lorne, drive along the Great Ocean Road, visiting the Great Otway National Park and the Twelve Apostles en-route.

Day 01: Arrive Melbourne
On arrival at the Melbourne Tullamarine Airport, proceed to the Hertz Car Rental Office to complete your documentation formalities and pick up your 5-Days Self-Drive Hertz Car - a Toyota Corolla Compact 5Door Hatch or similar (CCMR - Class B, Inclusive of Never Lost GPS). Once the formalities are completed, you are free to begin your self-drive tour. In the afternoon, explore Melbourne City and visit the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) for a 1-Hour Inside Guided Tour. (Supplement cost of AUD10 Per Person EXTRA to pre-book National Sports Museum Admission at MCG) Overnight in Melbourne.

Day 02: Self Drive Melbourne- Phillip Island
Breakfast. Check-out. This morning Self Drive east of Melbourne to Yarra Valley, Dandenongs & The Ranges is one of Melbourne's favourite retreats offering good food, fine wine, and unique attractions in natural surroundings. Take the Burwood Highway to Belgrave - approx 1hr drive from Melbourne City or 50kms away, where each day the famous Puffing Billy Steam Railway winds through the forests and fern gullies of the Dandenong Ranges National Park. Must arrive Puffing Billy's Belgrave Station at Old Monbulk Road by 1030hrs, park your vehicle at Bayview Road and checkin at the Station by 1100hrs for your Scenic Return Journey on Puffing Billy from Belgrave to Emerald - enroute pass Menzies Creek and disembark at Emerald Station by 1145hrs. You have approx 50-60min Free time to explore Emerald area before embarking on Puffing Billy at 1235hrs for your return journey to Belgrave station. Upon return to Belgrave, commence yourself drive experience to Phillip Island, approx distance 120km with drive time 2 hours. Continue on to San Remo where you will cross the bridge to Phillip Island - home to the world famous Penguin Parade, one of Australia's most popular natural tourist attractions. Discover Cape Woolamai where land and sea collide as pounding surf thunders against granite cliffs. Stop at the Koala Conservation Centre (admission included) and walk amongst the tree tops where you will meet a koala. Arrive into the Cowes Township where you can stay on the Esplanade. Later a short 10 minute drive to the Penguin Parade - Platform View (Plus) admission. Before the "Parade" stop in at Seal Rocks Sea Life Centre, here you will encounter the world's largest Australian fur seal colony. Here you will also view The Nobbies where inter-tidal rock platforms surge with life. Finally at dusk you will witness the spectacular parade of these little Penguins coming back from the sea and waddling across the beach in to their burrows. A truly amazing experience. Later arrive at your Waves Apartments at Cowes Phillip Island Accommodation and check-in. Overnight at your hotel.

Day 03: Self Drive Phillip Island- Lorne
(Breakfast is NOT included today) Checkout from the Waves Apartments. Today, you can explore Phillip Island further and visit sights such as A Maze'N Things for a 45-Minute experience of amazing Puzzles and Illusion (near Koala Conservation Centre). Visit Pannys Amazing World of Chocolate before departing from Phillip Island and driving to Sorrento Pier via Mornington Peninsula - approx 150kms away with 2.5hrs drive. Upon arrival at Sorrento Pier, check-in at Sea Road Ferry along with your Vehicle (below 5meters) for crossing the Bass Strait to Queenscliff - departs hourly with last Ferry at 1800hrs - we recommend that you must arrive at the Pier by 1630hrs to take the 1700hrs Ferry crossing (1Way Ferry & Passenger Tickets Not Included - to be paid locally to Sea Roads). Upon arrival at Queenscliff Ferry Terminal, drive to the town of Lorne via the towns of Torquay and Anglesea - approx 90kms and a drive of 1.5+hrs and check-in at your Great Ocean Road accommodation at Lorne. Overnight in Lorne.

Day 04: Lorne- Warrnambool
After breakfast, checkout from the hotel in Lorne and continue on your self-drive tour along the scenic Great Ocean Road via Apollo Bay, Otway National Park and the scenic Twelve Apostles near Port Campbell National park to Warrnambool - Approx 210Kms with drive of 4+hrs. Overnight in Warrnambool.

Day 05: Warrnambool - Melbourne
After breakfast, checkout from the hotel in Warrnambool and drive to Melbourne via Colac Highway. On arrival at Melbourne, check-in at your hotel for overnight stay. Overnight in Melbourne.

Day 06: Departure
After breakfast, checkout from the hotel in Melbourne and drive to Melbourne Airport, where you will need to deposit your vehicle with the Hertz's Airport Office and complete your final documentation before proceeding to board your flight back home or to the next destination.
